I live with her and my wife and daughter near Durham, England.

I work in a busy design studio as a senior graphic designer, and also, when required, illustrator and photographer.

My passion for as long as I can remember, has been drawing. I’ve been creating and working on my own projects for years now when I have the chance, and I would love to do it full time, using only my hand skills to earn a living.

I like working on children’s books in particular, they give the opportunity to let the imagination run free. I’ve written a few books, initially so I had something to draw, but I do believe a couple of them could be strong enough to be published. If I had a dream job, writing and illustrating children’s books would be it, but I’m not fussy, just being able to illustrate would be great.

I find it easy to adapt and work in a wide range of styles and media, though I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing, and that maybe I should try to stick to one recognisable style.

Everything I do will end up on-screen after the hand work is completed, though I always try to retain a traditional look to the finished piece. I have also taken to using a Wacom tablet a lot more, some of the new digital brushes are superb and virtually indistinguishable from traditional media.

My other passion is photography, I shoot with a Fujifilm XT20, and like to get out with it when I can. Please check out my Instagram feed @jonternent.

I hope you like my work, if you would like to get in touch with me for whatever reason, please do so via the contact page.

Thanks, Jon.
